Rehabilitation at Still Creek Farm
Aquatred Therapy
The HydroHorse Aquatred at Still Creek Farm is a submerged, hydraulic-powered treadmill that promotes therapeutic healing, strengthening, and conditioning. The 12 foot belt accommodates both walking, as well as trotting, and allows exercise in a controlled, low impact environment, which helps to increase the strength of tendons, ligaments, and joint capsules. The Aquatred is ideal for conditioning, as it builds top-lines through strengthening and developing abdominal, spinal, and hind muscular groups. After every session, every horse is bathed in the neighboring wash racks to ensure optimal coat and hair health.
Rehab Services
Our methodology was created for the horses, by horse people. We take the time to get to know each new horse on a personal level, which then determines their stabling and group grazing assignments, depending on their compatibility with the horses around them. Each rehab horse gets daily hand-grazing and grooming sessions, along with as many cookies and carrots they desire! If your horse is a candidate for our HydroHorse Aquatred, their presiding veterinarian will discuss with our staff and integrate their sessions into their rehab plan, which can include up to five sessions per week.

Still Creek Farm works closely with our neighbors at Tryon Equine Hospital, who prepare rehab programs tailored to each individual horse. Our partnership guarantees access to world-class veterinary care for your horse. We follow their given rehab programs diligently, which can include the use of additional therapies they may offer such as shockwave, laser therapy, chiropractic care, and more in collaboration with the presiding vet.
